I can also repeat the same thing – law enforcement officials who do not fulfill an illegal assignment will receive a bonus from the state budget after the change of government, – said one of the leaders of the Strategy Builder, Paata Manjgaladze.
According to him, the arrest of the Chairman of the Political Council of the United National Movement, Levan Khabeishvili, means that the government is afraid.
“The arrest of Levan Khabeishvili indicates and proves that the place and the content of the October 4 rally, which Khabeishvili spoke about, are correct, the regime is very afraid of this, which is evidenced by the manner in which Khabeishvili was arrested and on what absurd charges. I can also repeat the same thing – law enforcement officials who do not fulfill an illegal assignment will receive a bonus from the state budget after the change of government. It is absurd to arrest a person for this. I appeal to my opposition colleagues, it is important that we do not talk about party affiliation and which party we represent. The less we emphasize party affiliation and stand on the guard of the largest party – Georgia, the better we will win. Also, the calls for solidarity are very good, but now is the time for action. I am sure that tomorrow, and especially on October 4, the Georgian people will speak about the regime that has neither political nor moral superiority over the Georgian people,” Manjgaladze said.
In addition, Paata Manjgaladze also assessed the arrest of politician Murtaz Zodelava and stated that “this was a provocation against Murtaz Zodelava.”
“If I give you my phone, it is not a crime, you will understand this, you do not need a legal education,” Manjgaladze said.
For information, the State Security Service arrested one of the leaders of the National Movement, Levan Khabeishvili, on the fact of publicly promising money to officials as a bribe. The investigation is underway under the second part of Article 339 of the Criminal Code and provides for a sentence of 4 to 7 years of imprisonment.
Along with Khabeishvili, politician Murtaz Zodelava was also arrested. According to the State Security Service, he attempted to escape, physically resisting the Anti-Corruption Agency’s officers and abusing one of them.
