A protest action is taking place on Melikishvili Avenue, where the election headquarters of Kakha Kaladze, the “Georgian Dream” candidate for Tbilisi mayor, is set to open.
The opening of the headquarters is occurring amid protests from citizens. The gathered crowd is chanting: “Slaves, slaves!”
Protesters are also directing shouts at Kakha Kaladze, calling out: “Kaladze is a slave!”
The demonstrators also met Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze with similar chants.
Patrol police officers are mobilized at the scene and have formed a cordon, preventing the protesters from directly accessing the headquarters.
