September 13, or whatever date they come up with, in reality, just as all such attempts have fizzled out and burst like soap bubbles in the past, any such attempt will face a fiasco, stated David Matikashvili, a deputy from the “Georgian Dream” party, regarding the protest announced by the opposition.
According to his assessment, “an orchestrated conspiracy and attack on Georgia is underway, supported by the ‘fifth column’ and modern ‘Orjonikidzes.’”
“They want to radicalize events in Georgia, gathering local radicals, so-called non-governmental organizations, and giving them instructions to carry out processes that go against the interests of our country’s population and society. The plan comes from a specific leader, and there is an attempt to implement it, but in reality, neither the foreign controllers of local radicals nor the Georgian radicals themselves have understood or learned that this plan is doomed to fail. It is impossible to deceive the Georgian people. These attempts have long been consigned to the past. No matter what lies, manipulations, or falsifications of events and circumstances they resort to—whether it’s the head of IRI or anyone else—they cannot force our society to abandon its national interests. Georgia’s national interests are peace, the country’s unification, economic progress, and the well-being of the nation. Therefore, planning protests, whether on September 13 or any other date they invent, will, in reality, end in failure, just as all previous attempts have fizzled out and burst like soap bubbles. Once again, it becomes clear to the Georgian people how an orchestrated conspiracy and attack on Georgia is taking place. Unfortunately, this is all happening from outside the country’s borders, supported by the ‘fifth column,’ modern ‘Orjonikidzes,’ with which, sadly, the radical opposition flank of today’s political spectrum is saturated,” Matikashvili stated.
For reference, eight opposition parties have announced a protest for September 13.
