Ivanishvili’s Russian regime has left the country without friends and placed it under the influence of Russia and its allies.
Tina Bokuchava, Chairperson of the “United National Movement,” wrote on social media that, for the first time in 17 years since the 2008 war, the United States did not join a statement supporting Georgia at the UN, confirming that Georgian diplomacy is dead.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, as an institution, effectively no longer exists.
Yesterday, following a closed discussion of the 2008 war at the UN Security Council, the United States, for the first time in 17 years, did not join the statement issued afterward. This is not a collapse of Georgian diplomacy; it is proof that Georgian diplomacy is dead.
Ivanishvili’s regime has so thoroughly alienated the United States that our main strategic partner, whose open support in 2008, alongside the heroism of the Georgian army, stopped Putin and preserved our statehood, is now refraining from joining a statement on the war!
Why? Because today, Ivanishvili’s ‘Russian-Georgian Dream’ regime declares the U.S. an enemy, accuses it of starting the war, and names Russia, China, and Iran as its allies!
They have vilified America, but the ‘Russian-Georgian Dream’ regime earns praise from someone like Dmitry Polyansky, Putin’s deputy representative at the UN, who boasts that Georgia’s current (de facto) government acts with wisdom, resulting in Georgia becoming Russia’s second-largest trading partner and a record number of Russian tourists visiting the country.
This is why we have been asserting since 2012 that Ivanishvili’s political project is a ‘Russian Dream,’ a ‘Putin’s Dream,’ where Georgia is left alone, face-to-face with Russia, in international isolation, without friends or strategic partners. There is only one form of relationship with Putin: slavery, servitude, hostage-taking, and oppression.
Will the Georgian nation, after centuries of fighting for freedom, lose to Ivanishvili? No! Never! We will triumph and reclaim our national dignity, which Ivanishvili has stripped from our country! We will take back Georgia!” writes Tina Bokuchava on social media.
