Today, the radical opposition is in the hands of youngsters who are not particularly distinguished by education, experience, or anything else.
Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze made this assessment regarding the nomination of Irakli Kupradze as the joint candidate for Tbilisi mayor by “Lelo – Strong Georgia” and “Gakharia for Georgia.” According to Kobakhidze, “the radical opposition is extremely weakened today.”
“This all shows inconsistency. They say one thing and then do another. Of course, this is a result of weakness. Today, the radical opposition is extremely weakened, and that’s why they are not firm in their decisions—sometimes they say one thing, sometimes another, and then do a third thing. This is a manifestation of weakness. As for naming a specific candidate, that too is a manifestation of weakness. In reality, you can see that today the radical opposition is in the hands of youngsters who are not particularly distinguished by education, experience, or anything else. This is very good; processes are developing in the right direction,” Kobakhidze stated.
Regarding expectations for the October 4 elections, Irakli Kobakhidze expressed absolute confidence that “Georgian Dream” will win.
“64 mayors, 64 municipal councils—this is our clear goal. In Tbilisi, winning in the first round and securing at least 38 out of 50 seats in the Tbilisi City Council. Our goal is very clear, and we are very close to achieving it. The way processes are unfolding, we might even exceed this goal. We can’t exceed 64 in some areas, but in Tbilisi, we could secure even more mandates. It’s the same in the regions,” Kobakhidze stated.
