“Claims that they are supposedly crazy about Georgia and care about the Georgian people are a big lie—don’t believe it, friends. This is an attempt to punish the Georgian people,” said Kakha Kaladze, General Secretary of “Georgian Dream” and Mayor of Tbilisi, in response to a question about the possible suspension of visa liberalization.
According to him, “a complete catastrophe and tragedy is unfolding in Ukraine,” and therefore, the pragmatic policy pursued by “Georgian Dream” must continue.
“It is completely incomprehensible how the two mentioned laws are related to visa liberalization. There is no explanation or clarification. This is simply an attempt to punish the Georgian people. Don’t think they have any good intentions toward Georgia. The statements we hear are all absolutely false, claiming they are crazy about Georgia and care about the Georgian people. Don’t believe it, friends. This is a huge lie, a falsehood. If it were true, if they were truly our friends, they would not call on the country to join sanctions [against Russia], they would not pass resolutions, and there would not be blackmail against the Prime Minister and the party leader in their offices to open a second front. They have their own interests, and that’s understandable. It’s politics, they are big countries with their own interests, but don’t we have brains and common sense?! We must not allow anyone to use our small country for the interests of some big country. Look at what’s happening in Ukraine—a complete catastrophe, a total tragedy. Therefore, the pragmatic policy pursued by ‘Georgian Dream’ must continue,” Kaladze stated.
