In July of this year, the volume of money transfers to Georgia amounted to 337.0 million USD, which is 13.0% (38.9 million USD) higher than the corresponding figure for July 2024. This information was disseminated by the National Bank of Georgia.
According to the bank, in the first seven months of the year, a total of 2,052.0 million USD was transferred.
“Statistics published today by the National Bank of Georgia show that the largest share of remittances comes from EU countries, accounting for 44.3%, equivalent to 149.4 million USD, with an annual growth rate of 16.4%. Among EU countries, Italy, Germany, and Greece have a significant share in total money transfers.
Additionally, the upward trend in money transfers from the United States continues. Specifically, in July, a 21.1% annual increase was recorded, with the volume reaching 60.9 million USD.
In contrast, money transfers from the Russian Federation show a declining trend. In July, they decreased by 0.5% year-on-year, amounting to 45.3 million USD.
For reference, in July 2025, 37.3 million USD (101.2 million GEL) was transferred from Georgia abroad, which is 11.4% higher than the corresponding figure for July 2024 (33.5 million USD),” the statement reads.
