“Our motion today will be for the use of detention as a preventive measure,” stated Levan Vepkhvadze, the prosecutor in the Levan Jangveladze murder case, before the start of the court hearing.
As the prosecutor noted in a conversation with journalists, the investigation into the contract and mercenary murder is still ongoing.
“The investigation is being conducted regarding a contract and mercenary murder. The prosecution accuses the Mikadze brothers and Giorgi Jokhadze of organizing a contract and mercenary murder, but at the same time, the investigation continues, and investigative actions are being carried out within its framework.
Our motion today, of course, will be for the use of detention as a preventive measure, as we believe all three grounds necessary for detention are present, and we will prove this during the court proceedings,” said Levan Vepkhvadze.
For reference, a court hearing is currently underway at the Tbilisi City Court regarding the contract murder of Levan Jangveladze, where the issue of imposing preventive measures on the detained individuals will be discussed.
