**Russian Drone and Artillery Attacks on Kherson Leave Civilians Dead and Injured**
In the early morning hours of July 25, Russian forces launched a series of attacks on Kherson’s Dnipro district. The strikes resulted in the death of one person and injuries to seven others.
According to reports from Ukrainian news outlet Ukrainska Pravda, citing Kherson Regional Military Administration, the first attack occurred at around 7:30 AM when a Russian drone struck a 60-year-old woman who was outside at the time. She suffered severe injuries, including an arm amputation and was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.
Minutes later, at 8:30 AM, Russian troops shelled the area with artillery, injuring a 41-year-old man who sustained a blast injury and concussion. His condition is reported as mild.
The attacks continued throughout the morning, with another drone strike occurring around 9:00 AM that injured an 88-year-old woman in her yard. She was treated on-site by emergency medics for a concussion, blast injury, and closed head trauma.
One of the most devastating incidents occurred at approximately 9:30 AM when Russian forces used a drone to attack employees of a municipal utility company. A man born in 1972 was killed, and his 32-year-old colleague suffered a blast injury and the amputation of both legs.
Even as rescue efforts were underway, emergency medical crew came under attack by a drone while assisting an injured woman. Two medics, a 63-year-old woman and a 47-year-old man, received blast injuries and are receiving necessary medical care.
The attacks also targeted other civilians in Kherson, including a 73-year-old woman who was near her home when hit by a Russian drone. She suffered a blast injury and multiple shrapnel wounds to her torso.
Eyewitnesses reported that the shelling began shortly after 8 AM, with some residents experiencing their fourth or fifth strike. The attacks have caused significant damage to buildings, including shattered windows and a damaged roof.
The situation in Kherson has become increasingly dire, with civilians facing danger from Russian drones effectively encircling the city. Getting in, out, or simply being there is becoming more hazardous by the day.
**This attack highlights the escalating humanitarian crisis in Ukraine as Russia continues to target civilian areas. The international community must take action to condemn these actions and support those affected.**
