**Russian Regime’s Treachery: Georgia’s Interests Ignored**
The Russian regime has taken another step in betraying the interests of Georgia and its people. Representatives of the regime failed to support a resolution at the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly that called on the new Syrian government to revoke recognition of Russia’s occupied territories – Abkhazia and the Tskhinvali region. The resolution also urged new parliamentary elections in Georgia.
This move is not surprising, given the Russian regime’s disregard for Georgia’s interests and territorial integrity. According to Giorgi Baramidze, political secretary of the United National Movement, the authorities have no regard for the country or its people, and will do everything to retain opportunities for financial gain. “For them, money and power are paramount,” he stated.
**Prioritizing Power Over People**
The Russian regime’s decision not to support the resolution is a clear indication that their priority is to remain in power at any cost. Baramidze emphasized that if relatively fair elections were held, they would be defeated. This shows that the regime is more concerned with preserving its grip on power than with addressing the interests of Georgia and its people.

Against this backdrop, Baramidze stressed that the uncompromising struggle against the authorities must continue. Parties must say no to the Russian special operation, which they are trying to disguise as local elections. “This is exactly why our uncompromising struggle must continue,” he stated.

Baramidze called on parties such as Lelo-Strong Georgia and Gakharia-For Georgia to come to their senses and not play the Russian regime’s game. Participating in this special operation would be a betrayal of the Georgian people’s interests and a step towards legitimizing the regime.
**A Message for the People**
Whatever decisions are made by Bidzina Ivanishvili and his subordinates, it is essential that the people do not forget what is at stake. The notion that the vast majority of Tbilisi’s population is opposition-minded is false, as shown during parliamentary elections. It is unfortunate if parties are content with coming in second or third place and securing salaries for their representatives in the city council.

What is planned for October 4 is not an election, but a continuation of the Russian regime’s treachery. Baramidze emphasized that the people must be united, uncompromising, unbroken, and consistent in resisting this special operation.
