**Supporting Ukraine: A Guide to Getting Involved**

As Russia’s war in Ukraine enters its fourth year, it’s more important than ever for people around the world to show their support. Despite setbacks and challenges, the Ukrainian spirit remains strong, and with our help, they can continue to resist and rebuild.

In February 2025, a public spat between U.S. President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky threw Washington’s support for Ukraine into question. However, this incident sparked a renewed outpouring of global support for the besieged nation.

**Contact Your Representatives**

One simple yet effective way to help Ukraine is by contacting your elected representatives. In the United States, the American Coalition for Ukraine has a tool to find your members of Congress and provide recommended messaging for what to ask them. You can also join local groups organizing political support for Ukraine in your country or city.

**Avoid Companies Operating in Russia**

Another way to make a difference is by boycotting international companies that still operate within Russia. The Kyiv School of Economics has compiled a list of corporations continuing to do business in Russia, which you can access using their mobile app’s barcode scanner.

Consider supporting Ukrainian brands or local businesses instead. Our Ukrainian gift guide is a great place to start if you’re looking for inspiration.

**Donate to Ukrainian Organizations**

Ukrainian civil society and humanitarian organizations are in dire need of support, especially after the suspension of USAID. Some well-known charities involved in supporting those on the front line include Come Back Alive, the Serhiy Prytula Charity Foundation, and the Hospitallers. Donate what you can to these organizations or others like them.

**Protest in Support of Ukraine**

Joining marches or demonstrations in support of Ukraine is another way to show your solidarity with the Ukrainian people. The Ukrainian World Congress has compiled a map showing event organizers for Feb. 24, but be sure to look out for future events near you.

**Engage with Ukrainian Media, Culture, and Art**

Part of Russia’s goal in the war is to destroy Ukrainian culture. By engaging with Ukrainian media, culture, and art, you can help preserve this heritage. Our list (compiled by one of our members) highlights creative ways to help Ukraine, from podcasts about the war to resources for learning Ukrainian.

**Join Our Community**

If you haven’t already, consider becoming a member of our community at The Kyiv Independent. Your support allows us to continue providing in-depth coverage and analysis of the situation on the ground. By joining, you’ll be part of a community united by a desire to help Ukraine.
