**MP Embarks on Ambulance Drive to Ukraine, Pledges Support to Humanitarian Efforts**
Rachel Taylor, the Labour MP for North Warwickshire and Bedworth, is set to embark on a 1,300-mile drive from England to Ukraine in an ambulance. The vehicle has been donated by LKQ, an automotive parts firm based in her constituency, after a successful fundraising campaign. This generous donation will enable Ms. Taylor to transport vital aid to those in need.
The ambulance is just one of the many ways that LKQ has contributed towards humanitarian efforts in Ukraine since Russia’s full-scale invasion began in 2022. The company has delivered over 200 tonnes of aid, including 34 ambulances and more than £6,000 worth of medicine, to support those affected by the conflict.
**A Personal Commitment**
As chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Freight and Logistics, Ms. Taylor has been closely involved in efforts to coordinate relief efforts. Her personal experience and passion for this cause are evident in her determination to make a difference. “I’m really excited to be playing my small part in supporting Ukrainians in their fight for freedom,” she said.
Ms. Taylor’s visit to the Ukrainian embassy in October left a lasting impression on her, inspiring her to take action. She spoke of the dedication and commitment of the team coordinating relief efforts, describing it as “truly inspiring”. Her own experience as a local councillor and property solicitor has given her a unique understanding of the importance of community support.
**A Symbolic Gesture**
The ambulance drive is more than just a practical means to transport aid; it’s also a symbolic gesture of solidarity with the people of Ukraine. Ms. Taylor’s journey will serve as a powerful reminder of the UK’s commitment to supporting those in need. Her constituents in North Warwickshire and Bedworth are no doubt proud to see their MP taking such an active role in this humanitarian effort.
