**Russia’s Devastating Drone Attack on Odesa: Two Dead, Four Injured**
In a disturbing turn of events, Russia launched a drone attack on the southern Ukrainian city of Odesa overnight on June 28. The assault resulted in the tragic loss of two lives and left at least four others injured, according to Ukraine’s State Emergency Service.
**A Building Reduced to Flames**
The attack targeted a 21-story building in the heart of Odesa, causing a devastating fire that ravaged the 7th, 8th, and 9th floors. The blaze trapped residents in their apartments, leaving emergency responders with a daunting task. Miraculously, five people were rescued from the building, including a small child.
**Two Lives Lost**
The victims of this heinous attack were a married couple, who unfortunately lost their lives. Odesa Oblast Governor Oleh Kiper reported that the couple’s bodies were recovered from the damaged building. Tragically, two children, aged 7 and 3, were also injured in the attack and are currently receiving treatment.
**Complicated Rescue Efforts**
Emergency workers faced a difficult situation due to ongoing air raid alarms throughout the night, which complicated their efforts. The State Emergency Service highlighted the challenges they encountered while attempting to rescue those trapped in the burning building.
**Odesa Under Attack**
This latest drone strike on Odesa brings back memories of previous attacks on the city since the full-scale invasion began. Just a week ago, on June 20, a massive Russian drone attack killed one civilian and injured 14 others, including three first responders. The frequency and intensity of Russian missile and drone attacks have increased significantly in May and June.
