**Russian Troop Activity in Sumy Region Declines**
The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine has reported a significant reduction in the activity of Russian assault units near the border of Sumy region. According to spokesperson Andrii Demchenko, the enemy has abandoned the use of armored vehicles and is now operating in small infantry groups.
Demchenko explained that while the border between Sumy region and Russia stretches for approximately 550 kilometers, the occupiers are only attempting to infiltrate along a small section using small infantry groups. These incursions often involve quad bikes and other motorized vehicles. “The enemy had previously tried to use armored vehicles to break through our border, but they are no longer observed,” Demchenko said.
**Decrease in Enemy Attacks**
In the defensive zones where State Border Guard Service units are operating, a noticeable decrease in the number of enemy attacks and incursions has been recorded in recent days. This comes as welcome news for Ukrainian forces, who have been battling Russian troops in the area.
Demchenko emphasized that despite the reduced activity, the enemy is still suffering heavy losses. “The occupiers are losing dozens of troops killed or wounded every day in this direction,” he said. With such high casualties, it’s likely that the enemy is regrouping its units or reducing the intensity of its actions.
**Russian Capabilities Limited**
According to experts from the DeepState portal, the Russian army’s objective capabilities are limited, which prevents them from launching a full-scale offensive in the Sumy region. This assessment is echoed by analysts who note that the occupiers have managed to advance only as far as 20 kilometers from Sumy.
The situation remains difficult along the Novomykolaivka – Varachyne – Yablunivka – Yunakivka line, but overall, the decline in Russian troop activity near the border of Sumy region is a positive development for Ukraine. As one expert noted, “Suffering such heavy losses, the enemy is likely regrouping its units there now, or may reduce the intensity of its actions.”
**A Glimmer of Hope**
While the conflict in Ukraine remains ongoing and fraught with uncertainty, the reduction in Russian troop activity near Sumy region offers a glimmer of hope. Ukrainian forces have been battling against heavy odds, but this decline in enemy attacks suggests that their efforts are beginning to bear fruit.
As we move forward, it’s essential to remain vigilant and continue supporting our brave Ukrainian soldiers. Only through concerted international effort can we bring an end to the suffering in Ukraine and restore peace to the region.
