**Russia Launches Massive Drone Attack on Odessa and Kharkiv**
Last night, Russia unleashed a devastating drone attack on the Ukrainian cities of Odessa and Kharkiv. The assault, which involved more than 20 Shahed attack drones, left widespread destruction in its wake.
In Odessa, at least 10 strikes were recorded, with large-scale fires breaking out across the city. A four-story residential building was completely engulfed by flames, while a 23-story high-rise was damaged, with fire spreading to several floors. The fires also affected five other residential buildings and three cars.
Rescue efforts were underway when structures collapsed on rescuers, injuring three firefighters who are currently in stable condition in the hospital. Unfortunately, one person has been reported dead in Odessa.
The attack on Odessa came as part of a larger drone assault that saw 86 drones launched over Ukraine last night. The majority of these drones were Russian-Iranian Shahed models, which were used to target residential buildings, businesses, and civilian infrastructure.
**Infrastructure and Cultural Heritage Sites Damaged**
The Ukrainian railway company, Ukrzaliznytsia, reported that the infrastructure of a railway station was damaged during the attack in Odessa. Fortunately, there were no casualties, and train traffic is running as scheduled.
The Ministry of Culture also reported damage to cultural heritage sites in Odessa due to Russian shelling. A building built in 1912-1913 and a former brewery from the early 20th century were damaged, with significant destruction reported at a residential complex on Seminarska Street.
**Response Needed**
The attack on Odessa and Kharkiv is the latest example of Russia’s tactics of targeted terror against Ukraine’s civilian population. In response, it is imperative that Ukraine receives a strong response from the international community that will significantly hit all of Russia and its ability to continue the war.
As one Twitter user commented: “Putin now has the US paralyzed, free to massacre Ukraine’s civilian population.” The need for action is clear.
**Ongoing Efforts in Kharkiv**
Work continues to be ongoing in the Kharkiv region, where a residential building was targeted by Russian drone strikes. The attack on this city and others like it must not go unchecked.
As Ukraine Front Line (@EuromaidanPR) noted: “Russia continues its tactics of targeted terror against our people.” It is up to us all to demand that those responsible are held accountable for their actions.
