**Ukraine Under Fire: 12 Civilians Killed, 65 Injured in Russian Attacks**
Over the past 24 hours, Ukraine has faced a wave of brutal attacks from Russian forces, resulting in at least 12 civilian deaths and 65 injuries across multiple regions. The relentless assault on Ukrainian territory is a stark reminder of Russia’s continued disregard for human life and its refusal to implement a complete ceasefire.
**Russian Drone Attacks Intensify**
According to Ukraine’s Air Force, Russian forces launched an astonishing 49 drones overnight, including Iranian-designed Shahed drones, which are notorious for their ability to evade air defenses. Additionally, Russian forces fired an Onyx anti-ship missile and two X-59/69 guided air-launched missiles. While Ukrainian air defenses successfully intercepted 40 of the drones, a further 18 likely decoy targets were able to evade detection and overwhelm Ukrainian systems.
**Regional Breakdown of Attacks**
The strikes were reported in at least five regions across Ukraine. In Kharkiv Oblast, six civilians lost their lives, including two children, a one-and-a-half-month-old infant, and a 14-year-old girl, as well as two police officers and a State Emergency Service employee. A further 44 people were injured in the region.
In Donetsk Oblast, four civilians were killed in Russian strikes, with nine more injured in ongoing shelling across the front-line region. In southern Ukraine, one civilian was killed and nine others injured in Kherson Oblast, where Russia targeted residential areas and critical infrastructure. In Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, a man was killed when Russian forces dropped three guided aerial bombs late on June 7.
**Humanitarian Crisis Deepens**
The attacks come as Moscow continues to reject a complete ceasefire and escalates strikes targeting civilian areas across Ukraine. The humanitarian crisis in the region is deepening, with thousands of civilians forced to flee their homes due to ongoing conflict.
