**France to Produce Drones in Ukraine, Minister Announces**
In a significant development, French Defense Minister Sebastien Lecornu has announced that France will produce drones on Ukrainian soil. This partnership between a large French car company and a French defense SME (small to medium-sized enterprise) aims to equip production lines in Ukraine with the capability to manufacture drones.
According to Lecornu, apart from being used by Ukrainian forces, these drones will also be supplied to the French army for training purposes. The minister emphasized that this partnership is unprecedented and reflects France’s commitment to supporting Ukraine’s defense capabilities.
Interestingly, Lecornu stated that there was “no need” to send French citizens to work on the production line in Ukraine. He noted that Ukrainians have a unique advantage when it comes to designing drones and developing strategies related to them. This comment highlights the growing technological prowess of Ukrainian manufacturers, who have been at the forefront of developing cutting-edge unmanned systems since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion.
